The Railways has cancelled several trains through Vijayawada in the wake of riots in the Northeastern states against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. On Sunday evening, 24 trains from Howrah to Vijayawada were cancelled.

Here are the details of the cancelled trains

Train number 12840 (Chennai-Howrah), 12842 (Chennai-Howrah), 12864 (Yashwantpur-Howrah), 20889 (Howrah-Tirupati), 22877 (Howrah-Ernakulam), 12841 (Howrah-Chennai), 12245 (Howrah-Yashwantpur) 18645 (Howrah - Hyderabad), 20890 (Tirupati - Howrah Humsafar), 22878 (Ernakulam - Howrah), 12246 (Yashwantpur - Howrah), 18646 (Hyderabad - Howrah), 22852 (Mangalore - 125), 22502 (New Tinsukia – Bangalore), 06010 Pondicherry – Santrachchi, 18048 (Vascodigama-Howrah), 22812 (Mysore-Howrah).

Similarly, 12666 (Kanyakumari-Howrah), 12253 (Yashwantpur-Bhagalpur), 02842 (Chennai-Santragachi special) and 12704 (Secunderabad-Howrah) express trains have been partially cancelled. While the trains 22641 (Trivandrum-Shalimar), 22832 Satyasai Prasanthi Nilayam-Howrah Express and 12863 (Howrah-Yashwantpur) have been diverted. A special information centre has been set up at Vijayawada Railway Station for the convenience of commuters.
