All new medical colleges will come up in next 3 years: Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas
Deputy Chief Minister and Medical and Health Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani) on Tuesday inspected the 35 acre land where a medical college is proposed to be built in Markapuram.
Markapuram: Deputy Chief Minister and Medical and Health Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani) on Tuesday inspected the 35 acre land where a medical college is proposed to be built in Markapuram. He was accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues from Prakasam district Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Audimulapu Suresh, MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and District Collector Pola Bhaskara.
The Minister said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is committed to establishing one medical college in each Parliament constituency to ensure that the youth secure education on a par with corporate colleges and people get medical services. By establishing the medical college in Markapuram in the backward area of the district, about 15 lakh people from 20 mandals would be benefitted. He pointed out that a number of people are suffering from kidney disease in Markapuram area and said the government would appoint doctors and other staff in all hospitals to ensure that the medical services are available round the clock. The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 16,000 crore for the development of all government hospitals in the State. Village clinics would be started in remote places to provide medical services at the doorstep of the public. He said the Chief Minister wants to complete the construction of the new medical colleges in the coming three years and the tenders for the same will be called for soon.
The Minister said the government is planning to announce that the State is malaria-free State by 2030 and already prepared plans to make sure that the average cases would be less than 1 per 1000 by 2024. He said that about 1,108 cases were registered this year up to June 8 and advised the public to maintain hygiene by not allowing waterlogging in their surroundings. He said the government would provide 21.52 mosquito nets to the public soon to control malaria in the state.
Markapuram MLA Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy, former MLA Janke Venkata Reddy, RDO Sasi Reddy, local YSRCP leaders Palireddy Krishnareddy, Yerva Chalamareddy, and others also participated in the programme.
