Amaravati: TDP state president K Atchannaidu on Saturday termed 'unilateral' and 'objectionable' the resolution passed by the YSRCP in the Assembly on the local body elections in the state.

In a statement here on Saturday, he asked as to how the government could defy the decision taken by a Constitutional body like the State Election Commission (SEC) which had to hold the elections every five years as per the constitutional obligations. The YSRCP was running a vengeful and destructive regime demolishing all the established institutions, he said.

The TDP leader accused Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy of behaving as crazy as US President Donald Trump who had to pay a heavy price for his failures. Jagan was not thinking of the wellbeing and progress of the people of the state, he said.

Atchannaidu asserted that the YSRCP leaders, the ministers and MLAs were clearly afraid of facing the voters which was why they were making every effort to avoid the local body polls in February. All sections of people were eagerly waiting for 'one more chance' to give a fitting reply to 'One Chance CM'.

Stating that the CM was telling lies on all aspects, Atchannaidu said that the Jagan regime was taking coronavirus epidemic lightly since the beginning. The Chief Minister himself made the popular and negligent comment that paracetamol and bleaching powder would be enough to control the virus.

The government never thought of people's problems and losses at the peak of infections. But now, the government was saying that it was not ready to hold the local polls in the name of protecting people from Covid threat.
