Amaravati : TDP Politburo Member Varla Ramaiah on Monday took strong objection to the manner in which the YSRCP government handled the controversy surrounding the dumping of garbage in front of the banks in the State.

Ramaiah termed it as unpardonable government's vengeful attitude against the bankers despite their crucial role in running the country's economy. By throwing the garbage in front of the banks, the state government tried its usual suppressive methods.

In a statement here, the TDP leader asserted that it was only after the Centre took a very serious note of the issue that the YSRCP regime withdrew its coercive, arm-twisting tactics. The entire incident surrounding the garbage dumping yet again sullied and hurt the image of Andhra Pradesh at the national level.

Ramaiah deplored that once again, the government made a Dalit officer the scapegoat in the garbage row. The Vuyyur Dalit municipal commissioner was wrongfully suspended. The others who were actually responsible for the incident were allowed to go scot-free. From the beginning, the YSRCP government had adopted a step-motherly attitude towards the weaker sections and backward classes.

The TDP leader demanded that the Jagan regime ensure an impartial probe into the whole controversy and bring out the facts about the actual persons who caused this embarrassment for the State in front of the whole nation.
