YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy alleged that TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu was behind the demolition of the idol of Lord Kodandarama at the holy shrine in Ramateertham village. He said there was a conspiracy behind the destruction of the idol of Lord Rama in Ramateertham and raised doubts over Chandrababu Naidu's role in it. Vijayasai Reddy alleged that the TDP leaders had conspired to divert public attention in the wake of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's distribution of house site pattas.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway in the case of the attack on Kodandarama in Vizianagaram district's Ramateertham village. Unidentified persons who entered the temple at midnight destroyed the idol of Lord Rama. However, the head part of the idol of Lord Rama was found in the Ramakolanu of the temple, which was then brought to the temple amidst Jai Sriram slogans. Chinna Jeeyar Swami Ashram is arranging for the re-establishment of the idol.

On the other hand, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reacted strongly to the demolition of the statue of Lord Rama. He warned that harsh measures would be taken if the idols of God were destroyed. CM Jagan directed the authorities to take strict action instead of repeating such actions.
