A high-level meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and representatives of employee unions took place today (Saturday) at the State Secretariat. During the meeting, the Chief Minister took several key decisions to address issues faced by employees, following positive discussions with the unions.
The AP government agreed to release two installments of Dearness Allowance (DA) starting October 1st and approved the encashment of surrendered leave in January. The government also agreed to constitute a Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and approved the restoration of the 'additional quantum of pension.'
Leaders of the employee unions expressed satisfaction with the Chief Minister's announcements. CM Chandrababu assured the employees that they are an integral part of the government and promised to stand by them as much as possible.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister announced the decisions reached during the discussions with the union leaders.
Here are the decisions taken by Chief Minister Chandrababu:
Approval for the appointment of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC).
Payment of two Dearness Allowance (DA) installments starting October 1, 2026.
Release of DA installments covering the period from July 1, 2024, to January 1, 2025.
The AP government agreed to credit the value of surrendered leaves for the year 2022 into employees' accounts by the upcoming Sankranti festival.
Payment of one additional surrendered leave to police personnel for the upcoming Dussehra festival.
Decision to provide an 'additional quantum of pension' starting January 2027.
Applicability of the additional quantum of pension at a rate of 10% for those over 70 years of age and 15% for those over 75 years.
Approval to streamline the Employees' Health Scheme.
The coalition government agreed to make monthly payments to the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, starting next month.
The AP government has agreed to incur an annual expenditure of ₹2,880 crore as a result of these decisions.
