State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha said the full results of the ZPTC and MPTC elections were likely to be announced by this evening.
Punetha visited the counting centre at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur district to oversee the vote-counting process. He said counting was proceeding smoothly across the state.
CCTV cameras have been installed in both the strong rooms and counting halls, he said. The footage will be preserved for two months. If court cases relating to the counting process arise, it will be kept secure until the cases are resolved.
