APSRTC has took a crucial decision in the wake of losing money with the agreement between the Telugu states. With the reduction of services to Telangana, another 80,000 km were lost and hence RTC has created a route-wise blueprint in the state to compensate for this loss. It will be presented to the Executive Committee of Directors (EDs) on Monday. Once approved by the committee, RTC will run buses on the identified 223 demand routes. Bus services will be diverted to all major cities in Chennai, Bangalore and Andhra Pradesh from the cities where there is a demand for public transport.

It was decided to shift services from all the towns in Andhra Pradesh to cities and from the main zonal centers to the neighbouring districts. A total of 223 demand routes have been identified. Services are expected to start from every town to Visakhapatnam. As there are no services to Rayalaseema except from Vijayawada to Tirupati and with less number of Non-AC services, RTC has planned to run more services from Vijayawada to Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur.

The RTC has decided to increase AC services. Currently there are 243 AC buses with only 84 are running. AC services were reduced due to the lack of popularity and covid situation‌. Proposals are being made to increase AC services from January. There are 1,009 city services including Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam combined, while up to 740 city services are being running.
