Chandrababu Naidu's riverfront house partially inundated

The first floor of river front was vacated, security vehicles were moved out and sand bags were put in place to prevent flood, said the sources in Chief Minister's office on Wednesday.
The inundated house was earlier served with a notice as it has flouted norms and did not maintain the maximum flood level (MFL) of 22.6 metre but was constructed at 19 meter which is easily prone to submergence, according to the government sources. However, the opening of 70 crest gates of Prakasam Barrage saved the house from total inundation.
Notices were served for vacating the adjacent illegal constructions which are prone to submergence in times of floods. However, the TDP is accusing the government of deliberately delaying lifting of Prakasam barrage gates to justify its demolition of Praja Vedika and allegations of former CM living in a house that flouted river conservation norms.
Former minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao accused the state government and the ruling YSRCP of deriving "sadistic pleasure" by deliberately flooding the river bund areas where many poor people are living.
