Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has assured cyclone victims that the government stands with them and urged them not to lose heart.
In a tour of the affected area on Friday, the Chief Minister visited the paddy fields which were flooded with floodwaters at Jillelamudi in the district of Bapatla. He interacted with the farmers who had suffered from loss of crops and motivated them along with asking about their investments.
Mr Naidu asked whether they had taken out crop insurance. He said crop insurance and government input subsidies were important sources of support when natural disasters cause losses. He also announced that the government would conduct a large-scale campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of crop insurance.
The Chief Minister inspected floodwaters near the Jillelamudi bridge. Officials, Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy and local representatives told him that the stream’s rising levels had caused extensive flooding in several areas.
During his visit to the village, Mr Naidu met devotees of ‘Amma’ of Jillelamudi and praised them for their service activities.
