Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat Ram has said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is always thinking about the welfare of Backward Classes in the State and as part of it he decided to do justice to BCs in local body elections.

Participating in party meeting here on Monday, he said the High Court has directed not to cross 50 percent reservations in local body elections. With this, the Chief Minister took a decision to allot 10 percent of seats from general quota to BCs to avoid their problem who are losing 9.8 percent reservations in the wake of High Court judgement. The Chief Minister took the decision for the benefit of BCs and they should extend their support to him and put their endeavour to get majority seats in local body elections.

The party city coordinator Srighakollapu Shivarama Subrahmanyam, leaders Dr Akula Satyanarayana, MA Rao, Medapati Sharmila Reddy, B Srihari and many others were present.
