Collector inspects new terminal works at airport

Gannavaram: Krishna district collector DK Balaji directed officials to expedite the construction of the new integrated terminal at Vijayawada International Airport located in Gannavaram and complete the works within the stipulated time while maintaining quality standards.

The Collector conducted a field-level inspection of the ongoing terminal works as part of the airport expansion project on Thursday. He reviewed the progress of the terminal building and various infrastructure and allied works and sought details from officials on the targets and timelines.

Balaji discussed the construction works, infrastructure facilities and other related issues with the officials concerned. He instructed them to accelerate the works in accordance with the prescribed targets without compromising on quality.

The collector said the airport expansion would provide improved facilities to passengers and stressed the need for continuous monitoring of the progress of the project.

He directed officials to identify and address any issues affecting the works immediately in coordination with the departments concerned.
