In another 24 hours, the deep depression will intensify into a cyclone. Meteorologists have forecasted that the cyclone will cross the coast between Karaikal and Mamallapuram in Puducherry on the 25th of this month.

The sky is already overcast in the southern coastal areas as well as the northern districts of Tamil Nadu due to the impact of the monsoon. Heavy rains are expected in some areas. Andhra Pradesh is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains for the next three days. Also, the meteorological department predicts the same level of rain in Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

There will be heavy to very heavy rains in many places with winds at 45 to 75 km per hour in the coastal area, officials said. The Meteorological Department has been issuing warnings to fishermen since Sunday not to go fishing. Overall, the storm's effect will last until the 26th.
