Vijayawada: "In a current climate of future uncertainty and a looming environmental crisis, it is vital for design students to design their own lives and careers carefully, said environmentalist Prof Ajay Katragadda while delivering the fifth Foundation Day oration at National Institution of Design (NID) here on Sunday.
He called upon the students not to be disheartened by the initial delay in getting a new campus at Amaravati. Every delay and disaster can be designed to be a platform for different opportunities.
He narrated as to how he founded the environmental group, AWARA which successfully lobbied governments for a plastic pollution-free country. A mountain of river rubbish during morning walks compelled him to act. NID Director Mukherjee and Dr Prabir Panda, staff and students took part.
