Vijayawada: Former Minister and farmers' leader Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao has said that farmers would conduct Bus Yatra in the State in support of ryots who have been agitating for capital Amaravati for more than 40 days now.

He spoke to the media after attending a meeting organised by farmers' associations at a hotel here on Sunday. The meeting was organised by Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi.

He said farmers would visit all 13 districts and explain to the people underlining the need for the continuation of Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Vadde said there should be only one capital for Andhra Pradesh.

He demanded that the government withdraw the decision on shifting of administrative capital to Visakhapatnam and questioned how the government could take a decision on three capitals.

He condemned the police action in Amaravati against the protesting farmers and women.

He said everyone has a right to protest in a peaceful manner in the democracy but the State government is suppressing the voice of the people.

He said an action plan will be chalked out to stage a protest in Delhi to take the Amaravati capital issue to the notice of the Union government during the ongoing Parliament session.

BJP leader Anne Gopala Krishna, Rytanga Samakhya president Yerneni Nagendranath and others attended the meeting.
