Five villages in Amaravati region mearged in Tadepalli, Mangaligiri municipalities
The farmers who have given their lands for the Amaravati capital region are protesting for the last eight weeks demanding to remain Amaravati as the state capital.
Amaravati: The farmers who have given their lands for the Amaravati capital region are protesting for the last eight weeks demanding to remain Amaravati as the state capital.
Over the ongoing protest, the government has clarified that it's not shifting the capital, but only decentralizing the development. Recently, a delegation of farmers from the Amaravati capital region has met with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In the midst of the Amaravati protest, the AP government has taken a key decision. The government has issued orders merging five Amaravati villages into Tadepalli, Mangaligiri municipalities.
In two different GOs Navuluru, Bethapudi, Yerrabalem, Penumaka, Undavalli panchayats are merged into Tadepalli and Mangaligiri municipalities.
Penumaka, and Undavalli panchayats in Tadepalli mandal comes under capital region limits. In addition to these two villages, Praturu, Vaddeswaram, Ippatam, Mellempudi, Chirravuru, Gundimeda Panchayats are merged into Tadepalli Municipality.
Navuluru, Bethapudi, Yerrabalem villages under capital region are merged into Mangaligiri Municipality along with Atmakur and Chinakakani panchayats.
As there are proposals to establish Amaravati Capital City Municipal Corporation (ACCMC) with 25 grama panchayats in the capital region. Interestingly, the government has decided to shift five villages from the Amaravati region.
Recently, during the Assembly sessions, CM YS Jagan has announced to make Tadepalli and Mangaligiri as Model municipalities with Rs 1100 crore.
