Flood alert issued to Bhimavaram as Yanamadurru drain overflows

Bhimavaram is facing a threat of flooding after heavy rain caused the Yanamadurru drain to flow at high intensity. As the drain overflows, water is backing up through the drainage system and collecting in low-lying areas.

Authorities have issued a second-level danger warning and are on high alert. Residents are fearful as water enters homes, while officials have advised people in low-lying areas to move to safer locations.

The Gostani River is also flowing strongly near Palakoderu, where floodwater has entered the local electrical substation.
