Goddess Durga appears as Saraswati Devi, CM to present silk robes today

Dasara celebrations are under way in grand style at Indrakeeladri, where Goddess Durga is being worshipped as Goddess Saraswati on the auspicious day of Moola Nakshatra.

Large numbers of devotees have gathered, filling all queue lines. VIP and recommendation-based entry arrangements have been suspended for the day, with devotees in every queue granted free access for darshan.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to present *pattu vastralu* (silk garments) to the Goddess at 4.30 pm on Friday evening.

The Durga Temple chairman, executive officer, police commissioner and other senior officials have already offered prayers to the Goddess in her Saraswati manifestation.
