Guntur: Following the orders of the State Election Commission, the GMC elections have been postponed for six-weeks due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state. Speaking to the media here on Sunday, GMC Commisioner C Anuradha said that though elections have been postponed, an election code of conduct will still be in force.

She further said that the after restoring normalcy, the SEC will release the schedule and conduct elections. She instructed the officials to strictly implement the election code of conduct and warned that if that anybody will violate the election code of conduct, she will take stern action against them.

It may be recalled that the GMC election started the process on March 9.
