The Income Tax sleuths held raids on a self-styled godman Kalki Bhagwan's offices in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu for last five days. The officials conducted raids at the head office in Varadaiahpalem of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh and other offices across Chittoor, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru respectively.

The raids were concluded on Monday, and it was reported that over Rs 40 crore of Indian currency and 22 crores of unaccounted money in US dollars recovered from 40 premises of Kalki Bhagwan. "As many as 300 members have been investigated." an IT official said

Apart from cash, a large sum of diamond and gold at all the offices of Kalki Bhagwan were found to be seized. IT officials also found 85 crores of money, which came through Hawala, but the sleuths could not trace out the transactions belonging to 500 crores.
