Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari Is Appointed As The First Chief Justice Of Andhra Pradesh High Court
Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari has been appointed as the first Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court (CJ). President Ramnath Kovind has approved the Jitendra Kumar's appointment. Orders were issued on Thursday.

Orders were issued on Thursday. The Center said in its notification that Justice Maheshwari's appointment as Chief Justice would come into effect from the day he takes office.
Recently, the Supreme Court collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Maheshwari as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Primi Minister Narendra Modi and President Ramnath Kovind gave the nod to the decision and appointed Jitendra Kumar as chief justice.
His swearing-in date has not been finalized due to the ongoing Dussehra holidays for High Court. Senior Chairperson Justice Chagari Praveen Kumar has been the interim Chief Justice (ACJ) for the past nine months after bifurcation of HIgh court.
Justice Maheshwari was born on June 29, 1961, and enrolled as a lawyer on November 22, 1985. He started practice in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Later, in 2005, he was appointed as Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
