Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations at the Kanaka Durga temple on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada are under way in grand style. On the seventh day, the Goddess is being worshipped as Sri Mahalakshmi, drawing large numbers of devotees seeking her blessings.
Crowds are filling all queue lines, and temple authorities have made special arrangements to manage the influx. Devotees are currently waiting about three hours for darshan.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav is scheduled to visit the temple on Saturday evening to offer prayers to Goddess Durga. He will then attend the ‘Vijayawada Utsav 2.0’ event at Punnami Ghat.
