Kurnool: The president of SC, ST, BC and Minority Mahila Ikya Vedika, Patnam Rajeshwari demanded the state government to waive power bills pertaining to lockdown period.

The Vedika president along with other leaders staged a protest at its party office here on Monday against generating of abnormal power bills.

Addressing on the occasion, Rajeshwari said people have lost employment for three months due to lockdown. The common people could hardly feed their family members. At this juncture, people are unable to pay abnormal power bills.

It is nothing but harassing people, she said. She demanded the government to waive the power bills pertaining to lock down period.

The Vedika district president, Nandi Vijaya Lakshmi said the government has come to power with the votes of SC, ST, BC and Minority communities.

After coming to power the government has totally ignored the welfare of the people of those communities. People of all sections were forced to confine to houses by the governments in the name of lock down.

She also demanded the government to exempt people from paying power bills, house and water bills.
