Puttaparthi (Anantapur) : MLA D Sridhar Reddy stated that he will strive to develop Puttaparthi as an international tourist destination. Already the spiritual town has a brand image due to the visit of several people from abroad when Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba was alive.

The town has many guest houses and private resorts built by foreign devotees of the Baba and it will be developed on the lines of Mantralaya, he said.

Sathya Sai National Park, Underground drainage and underground power cables, a ring road, R&B circuit guest house, Food Park and Yoga Wellness Centre will be part of Rs 1,000 crore development project, he added.

Sridhar Reddy said to The Hans India that a master plan had been drafted prior to covid 19 lockdown.

Soon the issue will be taken to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

APIIC will provide 100 acres of land for Food Park, and Roads and Buildings department will be investing Rs.350 crore on the 31.5 km ring road development covering Manillakunta Cross, Kothacheruvu, Puttaparthi and Bukkapatnam mandals. Already 60 acres had been identified for the Yoga Wellness Centre, he further said.

MLA Sridhar asked officials to take steps for planting trees on the proposed ring road connecting Puttaparthi-Bukkapatnam-Kothacheruvu. A fountain at the Chitravati dam and also a giant statue of Baba for attracting tourists are also planned by the MLA.
