Kakinada: Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu has said that as many as 3,917 boat owners in East Godavari district will be benefited by government schemes. He distributed smart cards to fishermen as part of the YSR Fisheries Initiative on Tuesday.
He said Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has increased the diesel subsidy by Rs 9 for boat owners. And they can get subsidy through 81 bunks across the state and 16 bunks in the district.
The cards were being distributed to owners of motor boats to get diesel on subsidy. With the help of HDFC Bank, they created smart cards. He also distributed 75 per cent subsidy on GPS handsets to 15 boat owners at Nemam village.
