Eluru: Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar met Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh at his Undavalli residence on Friday. The MP discussed the prevailing political situation in the district and submitted a representation requesting the sanction of funds for various development projects within the Eluru Parliamentary constituency.
Key requests made by MP Putta Mahesh Kumar to Minister Lokesh included the sanction of Rs 2 crore for the construction of a BC (Backward Classes) hostel in Eluru and Rs 3 crore for the construction of a district library in Eluru town. Additionally, the MP requested financial clearance from the Finance Department for the construction of a fire station in Koyyalagudem and sought an allocation of Rs 12 crore for modernisation and the provision of facilities at Nuzvid IIIT. Minister Lokesh responded positively after reviewing the points raised in the MP. Subsequently, the two held a brief discussion regarding the political situation within the Eluru parliamentary constituency and the precautions to be taken for the upcoming local body elections. On the occasion, MP Putta Mahesh Kumar presented a book to Nara Lokesh detailing the development works and programs undertaken in the Eluru constituency over the past two years. After reviewing the book, Lokesh praised the initiative of documenting the work in this format.
