NCC unit sanctioned to St Ann’s College
Chirala: St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology, Chirala, has achieved another milestone with the sanction of a National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit under the 23 (A) Battalion NCC.
The announcement was made jointly by college Secretary Vanama Ramakrishna Rao and Correspondent Srimanthula Lakshmana Rao, who expressed happiness over the development. They said the NCC unit would help students develop discipline, patriotism, leadership qualities, self-confidence and a spirit of service while pursuing their academic goals.
Principal Dr K Jagadeesh Babu said NCC training would promote physical fitness, punctuality, teamwork and responsible citizenship among students. It would also provide opportunities to participate in social service activities, national integration programmes and training camps, contributing to their overall personality development. Administrative Director Vanama Sainath expressed gratitude to Colonel Gopal Tripathi, Commanding Officer of the 23 (A) Battalion NCC, and his staff for their support and guidance in securing the unit. The management also appreciated Lieutenant Medikonda Rajesh Babu, the college’s Associate NCC Officer, for his initiative, dedication and efforts in achieving the sanction.
Dr C Subbarao, Director of Research and Development, heads of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students congratulated the institution on the achievement.
