Government Whip and Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkata Rao pay tributes to the mortal remains of Nunna CI Ahmed Ali at a government hospital on Sunday
Vijayawada: The sudden death of Nunna Police Station (Payakapuram) Inspector Sk Ahmed Ali while discharging bandobust duty at Dharna Chowk here on Sunday came as a shock to the police fraternity.
Government Whip and Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and Government Whip and Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkata Rao paid their last respects to Ahmed Ali’s mortal remains at the government hospital. Several police and other officials also visited the hospital and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
The MLAs described Ahmed Ali’s death as a major loss to the police department and conveyed their sympathies to his family members. NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu expressed deep grief over the incident and assured that the department would extend all possible support to the bereaved family. DCP (Administration) KGV Saritha also visited the family members and offered condolences, besides taking steps to provide them with moral support during the difficult time.
The Andhra Pradesh Police Officers’ Association, NTR district, paid tributes to Ahmed Ali and described his death while on duty as deeply unfortunate. The association said the Inspector had earned a good reputation as an efficient officer in the Vijayawada Police Commissionerate.
According to the association, Ahmed Ali was performing bandobust duties at Dharna Chowk in connection with the ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ protest by Sachivalayam employees. He reportedly came under severe stress while discharging his duties amid the situation at the protest venue and suddenly collapsed. The association conveyed its deepest condolences to the family members and said the police fraternity stood by them in their hour of grief. Police officials, including DCPs, ADCPs, ACPs and colleagues remembered Ahmed Ali for his services and paid their respects to the officer who died while on duty.
