The Chitur sub-division police in East Godavari on Monday arrested one person in connection with theft in a petrol and diesel outlet at Chatti village in Chintur mandal on March 17 and recovered Rs 10.42 lakh cash from him.

Chintur: The Chitur sub-division police in East Godavari on Monday arrested one person in connection with theft in a petrol and diesel outlet at Chatti village in Chintur mandal on March 17 and recovered Rs 10.42 lakh cash from him.

According to Chintur SDPO Dr O Dilip Kiran, the incident occurred during midnight. Based on the complaint by the owner of the outlet, the police registered the case and started investigation with the help of Clues team. The police arrested the employee of the outlet Tirumala Srinivasa Rao on Monday and recovered the stolen cash of Rs 10.42 lakh.

The SDPO said that the outlet employee who was in debt stole the cash and tried to show it as theft. The arrested Srinivasa Rao was produced in Rampachodavaram court on Tuesday.
