Polavaram: A three-member team of Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) headed by Chief Engineer AK Pradhan and accompanied by DE Mohan and Chief Engineer (Power Sector) Amit Singh who were on a two-day visit went through the Polavaram Project works here on Tuesday.

The Irrigation officials who accompanied the PPA team explained various works underway at the project site. They told the team members that the project would be completed within the scheduled time in spite of minor hiccups which could be overcome.

The storage capacity of the Polavaram project could not be reduced. The project would take shape as mentioned in the detailed project report (DPR), the Irrigation officials said.

The officials informed the PPA team that 76 per cent of the concrete and head works are completed. Overall, all works including rehabilitation and resettlement were completed up to 41 percent.

The Irrigation officials including Superintending Engineer M Nagi Reddy, DEs Balakrishna and Rameswar Naidu, EE Adi Reddy, general manager of Megha Engineering Satish Babu Angara and Mishra accompanied the PPA team.
