Rajamahendravaram: Joint Collector Lakshmi Shah has said that the State government was taking steps to distribute house sites to 25 lakh people on Ugadi festival across the state. Addressing the members of Irrigation Employees Association here on Tuesday, he asked them to give some land for housing scheme allotted to the association some years ago, as the allotted land was vacant.

He asked them to extend their cooperation by giving some land for the poor people which is the need of the hour. MP Margani Bharat Ram said it is the time to the association to cooperate with the government and assured to provide necessary facilities to them in the land. Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja said the land was allotted to the association by former chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy with the initiative of former minister Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao and asked them to show their gesture by giving some land to the government.
