The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has geared up its machinery to conduct elections to the corporation, including the newly created four divisions.

Rajamahendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has geared up its machinery to conduct elections to the corporation, including the newly created four divisions. At present, the corporation has 50 divisions and four divisions newly added with the merger of 21 villages of Rajamahendravaram rural mandal, Korukonda and Rajanagaram mandals.

The total number of voters in 54 divisions are 4,87,344 including 2,41,864 men, 2,55,402 women and 78 others. The municipal corporation succeeded to merge 21 villages in the corporation after a decade. Meanwhile, the records from the 21 village panchayat offices were also handed over to authorities concerned. The corporation also directed the mandal development officers of the three mandals to take permission to take up any work in the villages, as they were merged. The corporation also sent proposals to the government to form East, West, North and South zones to ease the administration as well as to avoid inconvenience to the people.
