  • Municipal Corporation (RMC) has accorded civic reception to three great personalities who received President of India's award recently, in recognition to their services in their respective fields, at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram here on Sunday.

Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation (RMC) has accorded civic reception to three great personalities who received President of India's award recently, in recognition to their services in their respective fields, at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram here on Sunday.

RMC felicitated 'Mahamahopadhaya' Viswanadha Gopala Krishna, 'Mahamahopadhaya' Dr Salaka Raghunadha Sarma and Dr Karri Rama Reddy. Viswanadha Gopala Krishna is a great scholar in Tarkam, Vyakaranam and in Sanskrit in the country and earlier received many awards and rewards from various organisations and governments.

His father Viswannadha Jagannadha Ghanapati also received President of India award from Dr Babu Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Dr Salaka Raghunadha Sarma translated more than one lakh Sanskrit slokas into Telugu language of the great epic Maha Bharata, which is having as many as 1.4 lakh slokas and conducted research on many issues.

Dr BC Roy awardee Dr Karri Rama Reddy is a noted psychiatrist and participated in many social service activities and gave counselling to lakhs of students. The doctor is a multifarious personality having about 20 degrees in engineering, information technology, criminology, law, public administration etc.

Besides Dr BC Roy award, he received many other awards.The trio were brought to Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram amidst vedic mantras. Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, MP Margani Bharat Ram, corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar, former MLA Adireddy Appa Rao, Aryapuram Bank former chairman Challa Shankar Rao felicitated them with shawls and citation.

Responding to their felicitation, the trio said the civic reception given them great joy than receiving the award from the President of India.Hundreds of people participated in the civic reception.
