Tirupati: The first virtual International Alumni meeting of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) was held on Sunday night. It was organised by the International Relations Office of the varsity. Inaugurating the programme, Dean, International relations Prof P Vijayalakshmi has said that the meeting was aimed at creating an alumni network/database and to conceptualize the plan for the global scale alumni activity.

Dean, School of Social Sciences Prof K Murugaiah told that the university has grown manifold in the recent past achieving a strong base in academics and research activities. It works on the strong mission of emancipation of women through education.

Speaking on the occasion, Meenakshi Anipinidi of Suswara Music Academym Dallas said the four-year Advanced Diploma Course in Music offered in collaboration with SPMVV focuses on understanding of Indian music traditions, forms and composers. Raghavi Janaswamy, Ragavahini Music Academy, Minnesota, USA opined that the courses help to nurture and develop creative, analytical and performing skills in Sangita (music) and Nritya (dance).

The alumni of different departments, who stay abroad were connected in the second part of meeting from United States, UK and UAE. Most of the students have volunteered to help in the promotion of image of the institution.
