Tirupati: In connection with on going Police Commemoration Week, Sri City Police, in collaboration with Sri City Foundation and SIMS Hospitals, conducted a free medical camp at Aroor village on Saturday.

BH Vimala Kumari, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Sri City inaugurated the camp. Briefing about the role and sacrifices made by police force for the wellbeing of society, she stressed on the importance of health.

She called upon the villagers to make use of the camp and undergo health check-up. A team of doctors along with paramedics, pharmacists from SIMS, Chennai conducted the camp and screened about 200 people in different age groups. They all have been examined for BP, random blood sugar, and got medical advice. Medicines were given free of cost to the needy.

Blood Donation camp held at IIIT-S

On this occasion, Sri City Police and the Indian Institute of Information Technology-Sri City (IIIT-S) have jointly organised a blood donation camp at the premises of IIIT. Students and teachers in large number took part in it and donated blood. Prof Kannabiran, Director IIIT-S and Vimala Kumari addressed the students and appreciated them for coming forward to donate blood.
