Kurnool: Srinivasa Rao the PRO of Srisailam temple was severely injured in an attack on Monday late night.

According to information some unidentified persons borne with deadly weapons attacked the PRO while he was coming out of the house of EO after talking to him on Monday night. In the attack Srinivasa Rao suffered grevious injuries.

He was first taken to Srisailam hospital and after primary treatment he has been rushed to Guntur hospital for better treatment. His health condition is stated to be critical.

Of the four unidentified persons, one person was caught by the EO staff and handed over to Srisailam police. The person in police custody was known to be the resident of Nandyal.

Srinivasa Rao has worked as Senior Assistant for 15 years at Srisailam. Three years ago he was transferred to Mahanandi where he served for 8 months in the same cadre. He was again transferred to Srisailam on promotion as PRO at the time if Narayan Bharat Gupta served as EO prior to Sri Ramachandra Murthy.

Police investigating the reasons behind the attack. Actual facts would be known after a thorough investigation, says the cops.
