Narasaraopet: MP Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu and MLA Yaapathineni Srinivasa Rao laid the foundation stone for drinking water scheme under AMRUT 2.0 drinking water project, being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 49.61 crore in Dachepalli Nagara Panchayat to solve the drinking problem.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the AMRUT 2.0 project would play a crucial role in providing safe and reliable drinking water to every household in Dachepalli Nagara Panchayat. He said that Rs 1200 crore is being invested through the Water Grid project to provide drinking water to every village and every household across the Gurazala and Macherla constituencies.

He said Dachepalli has a total of around 12,000 households, of which only about 3,100 households at present have water connections. MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao said through AMRUT 2.0, they are providing new connections to another 4,300 households, taking the total number of households with drinking water connections to more than 7,400.

He said with Buggavagu as the primary water source, they will provide drinking water to every household on demand.
