In a statement here, he said the farmers had completed 200 days of agitation. He wondered why the government was ignoring the capital though it was enjoying excellent connectivity and can boast of abundant availability of water. He said it was accessible to all areas of Rayalaseema, south coast, and Godavari districts.

Politicians across the country supported the plans for the construction of the capital close to Vijayawada, he said and added it has been neglected only due to grudge against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. An amount of Rs 2,000 crore is sufficient for constructing the capital city with all facilities.

Further, TDP district general secretary Ch Venkateswara Reddy asked how Visakhapatnam city was accessible to many parts of the State when compared to Amaravathi. He criticised Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for reneging on his promise to support the establishment of capital city. Political vendetta would push the State into the darkness He said how Kurnool is appropriate for arranging the High Court which is located at the end of Rayalaseema.

Party leader V Prabhakar Reddy said experts also suggested that Visakhapatnam not be considered for capital citydue to various factors.
