In view of growing Covid-19 cases across the country, an awareness session on prevention of the spread of coronavirus was held at Sri City on Thursday.

Tirupati: In view of growing Covid-19 cases across the country, an awareness session on prevention of the spread of coronavirus was held at Sri City on Thursday.

It was jointly organised by the Police authorities, Road Transport officials and Sri City management.

Explaining about the purpose of holding the awareness session, Vimala Kumari, Dy. SP, Sri City said, "There is every need to educate all the stakeholders in Sri City about the pandemic, its symptoms and key preventative measures which should be taken on an individual level to avoid any risk." She appealed all the citizens to avoid hand-shaking for formal greetings.

Offering tips for staying safe while travelling, Madhusudan, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Puttur suggested that hand sanitisers should be made available in all vehicles, and advised the drivers and passengers to sanitise hands before boarding and after alighting the vehicles. Rafi, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Sullurupeta, offered a few tips for safe travel.

Ms. Sheela, para medical staff of SIMS Hospital, Sri City gave a demonstration on personal hygiene, proper washing of hands with sensitiser and how to cover while coughing and sneezing. HR managers and executives of all industrial units, security

personnel, transport operators have attended the session. Ramesh Kumar, Vice President (customer relations), Dr Kishore and Dr Janardan and officials of health department were present.
