Tirupati: Several organisations held a protest opposing the fleecing of parents by corporate and private educational institutions here on Monday.

The united action committee consists of AAPS, AISF, NSUI, Nvyandhra JAC, Dalit Bahujan Student Federation, AP Rythu Sangham and others held a protest fast at Sub-Collector office.

Speaking on the occasion, the President of Andhra Pradesh Abhivrudhi Porata Samithi (AAPS) N Raja Reddy said that the managements of corporate and private institutions were acting as they like and collecting hefty fees. He demanded that every management should keep the fee details in their notice boards so that parents will be aware of them and can take an appropriate decision. Even after collecting heavy fee from students, they are not even providing basic amenities to them.

AISF State Joint Secretary Siva Reddy mentioned that as per GO 246 society should be part of school maintenance and parent-teacher committees are to be set up.

Leaders of other organisations N Nagesh, Amrutha Teja, Rafi and others also spoke. They also submitted a memorandum to Tirupati Sub Collector Dr R Mahesh Kumar. MD Rafi, Surendra, Rajesh, P Vinayaka Reddy, B Srinivasulu and others took part.
