Tirupati: Pasuramala jewel has been donated to Lord Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple here on Monday. Tirupati-based Abu Hatim Group MD Surendra Raja's daughter Koustubha presented Thiruppavai Mala and Yagnopaveetam in silver.

These twin unique ornaments donated to the ancient Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple assume significance as the auspicious Dhanurmasa is commencing from December 16.

The Tiruppavai Pasura Haram is worth around Rs 2.89 lakh and weighs around 3.230 kg. It has 31 dollars with a Pasuram imbibed on each dollar.

While the price of Yagnopaveetham is around Rs 57,760, it weighs 750 grams, a temple official said. AEO Ravi Kumar, superintendent Venkatadri, temple inspectors and others were present.
