Tirupati: TUDA Chairman and Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy on Thursday visited the Covid patients at SVIMS Covid hospital instilling the much needed confidence among the positives for their speedy recovery.

Undaunted by the lurking risk of infection of the deadly infection in the sprawling hospital, where 390 patients from the four districts of Rayalaseema region are under treatment for Covid-19, Chevireddy, who is also the Cochairman of Covid Coordination Committee (CCC), cloaked in PPE, made it a point to meet every one of the positive in various wards in the four storied massive hospital building.

During his three hour long visit to the Covid hospital, TUDA chairman lent his ears to the patients, pouring out their worries triggered by the fear of dreaded virus and stressed them on remaining bold to win the fight on corona. Many patients thanked Reddy for visiting the hospital and said his visit would give them confidence.

Accompanied by SVIMS In-charge director Hanmantha Rao, Medical Superintendent Ram and Assistant Director (PR) V Rajasekhar covered all the wards in the Covid Hospital.

Some broke down, some perturbed while many undisturbed and a number of patients seen cheerful when Reddy met them on their beds. Notably, the patients almost all of them are happy with the treatment, food and support being provided by the hospital staff.

Speaking to The Hans India, Reddy said that in a determined bid he visited the hospital to have a firsthand experience of the plight of Covid affected, the conditions in the hospital, the support both medical and non-medical like food being provided to patients and to find out the ways and means from the horse mouth of doctors on enhancing the facilities in the hospital.

"The ultimate aim of CCC is to churn out SVIMS Covid hospital as number one in the state. I will meet Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to share my interaction of patients and hospital experience to offer many useful suggestion for fine tuning Covid care in the state,'' Reddy said.

In this connection, he urged the relatives of patients not to ignore the boosting up of morale and instilling confidence, the two paramount way for recovery of the positive and leave the rest like treatment and other aspects to state health agencies.
