Transport officials seize vehicle for not paying tax in Visakhapatnam
The officials of the Transport Department checked 66 buses at Aganampudi from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
Visakhapatnam: The officials of the Transport Department checked 66 buses at Aganampudi from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
Among them, one bus of Kaveri Travels was seized by the officials because of non- payment of AP State tax. This apart, 14 cases have also been booked against the bus operators for violating the norms.
From afternoon, inspection was also carried on at vehicle dealers' outlets across the district. There were complaints that such vehicles were being sold at more the invoice price and dealers collecting handling charges from the clients. Following this, the officials conducted raids at various showrooms.
A team of officials led by Deputy Transport Commissioner, Raja Ratnam and other Motor Vehicle Inspectors participated in the raid. The officials said that the raids will be conducted across the State.
