    Chittoor district witnessed ghastly gales and devastation during the Nivar cyclone crossing the district late in the night of Thursday.

    Chittoor district witnessed ghastly gales and devastation during the Nivar cyclone crossing the district late in the night of Thursday. people have been shaken by the terrible gales and sounds when the Nivar cyclone touched the Tirupati city at night 10 pm to 12 am.

    Following the cyclone damages, two persons lost their lives in flood water at Ralla Madugu Canala and Irala channel stream. On the whole District People have faced a horrible situation with darkness, APSPDCL officials have intercepted the power supply till the early hours of Friday.

    At 4 am power supply was restored by the SPDCL officials. Across the District in many villages, coconut thatched huts washed away by the ghastly gales and heavy rains. Officials are assessing that only in Tirupati division more than Rs 500 crores property and crop damages are there.

    In the first incident farmer, Prasad was missing yesterday in Ralla Madugu water stream. On Friday morning he was found dead faraway from Yerpedu Mandal in the same canal. And another incident a person Vinay Reddy of Palakuru village in PuthalaPattu Mandal was found dead in a channel at Irala Mandal. Came to know that while he was trying to cross the channel stuck in the middle of the steam and died.

    In both incidents Local MLAs Madhusudhan Reddy (Srikalahasti) and Babu ( Puthalapattu) consoled the deceased family members. As well as assured them to arrange compensation from AP state Government.
