The gang war between two groups Pandu and Sandeep, which led to a murder of Sandeep has erupted the tension situation in Vijayawada city in the last week. The residents in Vijayawada are concerned about the issue and worried that the past situation related to anti-social elements would once again prevail in the city.

In this backdrop, the Vijayawada police have taken a tough decision on this gang war incident. Pandu aka Manikanta and Sandeep gangs were expelled from the city under Preventive Detention act. DCP Harshavardhan has ordered everyone involved in the gang war to leave the city. So far, 37 people have been arrested in connection with these two gangs. Another 13 gang members belonging to two other gangs are in absconding.

The main accused in the gang war case, Pandu alias Manikanta, has been arrested. He was treated at the Guntur Hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries in the gang fight and was taken into custody after his health condition is stable. One blade and two knives were recovered from him. He was subsequently produced in court. On the orders of the judge, the Pandu was sent to the Rajahmundry Central Jail.
