Special prayers conducted on the occasion

Vizianagaram : Devotees thronged temples of Lord Venkateswara Swamy and churches across the district on Friday as two auspicious festivals Vaikunta Ekadasi and Christmas fell on the same day. Hindu devotees in large numbers arrived at Balaji temples located at various places and Christians visited churches as they participated in Christmas celebrations.

Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Ring Road witnessed a heavy rush of pilgrims who arrived from various places. The stood in queue line for two hours to have darshan of the presiding deity.

Similarly, a large number of pilgrims thronged the famous Thotapalli Venkanna temple on the occasion. Ramaswamy temple at Ramateertham made special arrangements for darshan to devotees on Vaikunta Ekadasi. Procession with Idols of Seetharama Swamy was organised.

Christians offered prayers at churches at Vizianagaram, Bobbili and Parvathipuram on Friday. Churches were decked up and special prayers were conducted.
