A policy roundtable in Hyderabad has called for wider implementation of a 24/7 business model across Telangana and other Indian cities.

Organised by Swatantrata Center and Political and Democratic Reforms, the discussion focused on creating more jobs while protecting workers, vendors and small businesses.

Participants stressed the need for better night-time public transport, women’s safety, sanitation and pedestrian infrastructure. They also proposed a Digital Single Window for permits, stronger protection for street vendors and gig workers, and lower fees for micro-enterprises.

The meeting emphasised that a 24/7 economy should not mean 24/7 labour, with worker consent, labour laws and safety remaining essential.
