Kollywood’s ace actors Karthi and SJ Suryah teamed up for Sardar 2 and are all set to entertain the audience on 10th September, 2026 with their complete action entertainer. Being the sequel to the blockbuster movie, there are many expectations on it. So, as the release date is nearing, the makers are leaving no stone unturned in terms of promotion. Even Karthi and SJ Suryah graced the sets of Bigg Boss 10 Telugu launch episode to promote their movie.

Even the pre-release event that was held in Hyderabad last night had the complete cast of Sardar 2. Tollywood’s popular actor Adivi Sesh also graced the event and heaped praises on Karthi. As he is all excited for the sequel, Sesh doled out, “I love seeing the whole father angle; I think it is going to be extraordinary”.

Even Karthi echoed the importance of this sequel stating, “Sardar has got a big fan base here. Sardar 2 is definitely a very important movie in my career. Getting a spy character like this is my good fortune. Such characters are rarely recognised despite performing highly specialised and precise work.”

He is also happy to promote the movie in Hyderabad, “Whenever I come to Hyderabad, Telugu people have a huge following for that movie because it’s on Aha, and people have re-watched it so many times”.

On the other hand, Karthi also stated that Sardar 2 has achieved the scale he and his team wanted to see in Indian cinema by doling out, “When we watch so many English movies, we get a feeling: ‘Can’t we make such action, such stylish movies?’ All of that is fulfilled in this film”.

Finally, even the antagonist of this movie SJ Suryah also spoke with the audience and said, “Sardar was already a massive blockbuster in Telugu, and it received an excellent response on OTT as well. Sardar 2 will surely give double the excitement. The sequel indeed combines all the ingredients of a commercial entertainer with meaningful content. Compared to Sardar, Sardar 2 has extraordinary entertainment, fights, and strong content”.

Sardar 2 pre-release event was also graced by Boyapati Sreenu, Sailesh Kolanu, and Kalyan Shankar. Well, this P. S. Mithran’s directorial is being bankrolled by S. Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena under the Prince Pictures and IVY Entertainment banners.

This movie also has an ensemble cast of:

• Karthi as Agent Sardar and Chandra Bose

• Agent Vijay Prakash

• S. J. Suryah as Black Dagger

• Malavika Mohanan

• Ashika Ranganath

• Rajisha Vijayan as Indhrani

• Nassar

• Luthfudeen as the younger version

• Ashish Vidhyarthi

Going with the trailer, it opens with a voice over, “Before the idiot comes, the festival of Thaipusam will arrive” and the reply to it, “Uncle, he is about to come” serves as the introduction to Karthi's character, Vijay Prakash. Since he is the only officer fluent in Japanese, the officers refer him for the new assignment to solve the case that involves lives of 30,000 people.

But the trailer makes us witness Karthi in dual roles as Chandrabose’s son is also part of the same field. Thus, he follows his father’s path and takes a toll in the enemies. SJ Suryah as antagonist Black Dagger once again stole the show and is expected to show off his mark on the big screens. On the other hand, Sardar 2 has glimpses of both a sequel and prequel which will make us witness Agent Sardar aka Chandra Bose’s past and his son Vijay Prakash’s present-day story.
