Katrina Kaif Receives Support From Women Amid Antilia Appearance Backlash

Bollywood’s ace actress Katrina Kaif needs no introduction. Be it through her screen presence or the graceful dance moves, she stole the hearts of the Bollywood audience. Well, her “Chikni Chameli…”, “Sheela Ki Jawani…” or the “Kamli…” song are even popular today and hold their place in the sangeet playlists too.

Well, she also tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Vicky Kaushal on 9th December, 2021 at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. And thereafter the couple are blessed with their little Vihaan on 7th November, 2025.

Katrina Kaif was always considered as dream girl and holds the same place in everyone’s heart. But her recent appearance at Mukesh Ambani’s Ganapathi Chaturthi celebrations sparked a debate on social media. Some harshly body shamed her and thus it created a negative buzz on Instagram. The couple posed for the paparazzi, with Katrina making her first major public appearance in several months. She looked elegant in a traditional outfit alongside her husband.

But Katrina Kaif has received strong support from women and fellow mothers after facing online trolling over her appearance at Antilia. Many have criticised the double standards surrounding women’s bodies, particularly after motherhood, with one clear message emerging: “She owes you nothing.”

Fellow Mother Calls Out the Double Standards

On September 16, content creator Tarini Peshawaria shared an Instagram video addressing the criticism directed at Katrina. Tarini, who describes herself as a mother who enjoys storytelling and sharing her views on beauty and wellness, questioned the need to compare a woman’s body before and after childbirth.

Showing a side-by-side comparison image in her video, Tarini said:

“Today I saw a post where Katrina Kaif's 'before' and 'after' pictures were being compared — before having a baby and after having a baby. First of all, I won't even get into the fact that people don't seem to know that a woman's body changes after having a child. I mean, I think this is basic.”

"Personally, for me as a mom of a three-year-old, it’s so refreshing to see a celebrity who’s not 'bounced back', who’s literally just enjoying, appreciating, and showing off her new body. For two to two-and-a-half years, I couldn't lose the baby weight. I used to feel that I had no one to look up to, no online personality or celebrity who had not 'bounced back'. I used to feel like I’ve been left all alone in my postpartum body while everyone else got thin and fit."

Tarini further stated that Katrina’s decision to appear in public without trying to conceal or immediately change her post-pregnancy body could encourage many women who are going through a similar phase.

"Looking at Katrina, I can only tell you how many women she’s healing by just flaunting this amazing look of hers," Tarini said. She added:

"Do you realise that whoever is trolling her, she has access to the best fitness coaches, the best nutritionists. She can lose weight like this if she wants to. But she’s choosing to accept this body, enjoy this phase in her life, and just focus on motherhood."

Several users also expressed their support in the comments section. One person wrote:

"I can’t believe she is being trolled and how it’s always about looks when it comes to us women; like our achievements don’t matter at all."

Another user shared:

"I can totally feel what you are saying. I have been through the same phase."

A further comment praised Katrina and other mothers, stating:

“She was beautiful then. She is beautiful now. And this is for every woman who has given birth, for every woman whose body has changed, whose strength has grown, and whose beauty has only deepened with time. Motherhood doesn’t take away a woman’s beauty. It adds a whole new meaning to it.”

Professor Falguni Vasavada Defends Katrina

Falguni highlighted Katrina’s professional achievements and her beauty brand while questioning why public attention was being focused on her appearance.

"Beta (son), tell me, how many zeros are in ₹350 crores?" Falguni asked, referring to the reported annual net gross sales revenue of Kay Beauty, the brand co-founded by Katrina Kaif. "That was the net gross sales annual revenue of Kay Beauty, co-founded by Katrina Kaif last year. Still, we are causing a stir over her looks. A woman, just because she belongs to the film industry, is body-shamed because she became a mother and her body has gone through changes," she added.

Falguni also criticised the unrealistic standards imposed on women as they age and experience different stages of life.

“Be a mother, but don't look like a mother. Become 40-years-old, but you must look 20. Your skin should be tight, your tummy flat... shaming women for ageing and shaming women post-motherhood for bodily changes is so not in fashion. We are in 2026. Use AI, use Claude, do math on the internet... focus a little on your own life so you can move forward. She (Katrina Kaif) doesn't owe you anything. Ensure you stop body-shaming women, especially as women grow. Let them age. Men are allowed to age; women are not allowed to age.”
