Director Shree Tej S.K. is all set to witness the global theatrical release of the thriller, ‘Mayookha’, starring Payal Chengappa. Produced by Sasidhar Nalla of Prashvitha Entertai9ment, the movie is all set to release on the 9 th of this month.
The filmmaker spoke about how the film has been appreciated at various international fests even before its release. It has won the Best Mystery Movie at the New York film fest and the film also bagged the Second Best award in Thriller category. The team has also applied for Cannes film festival.
The filmmaker said that the film is inspired by Korean and Hollywood style of narration and visuals especially in terms of color grading. He asserted that the screenplay in the film is a new take on thrillers, where the mystery deepens and unravels only in the second half. The movie also sees the hero in a new avatar, said Shree Tej.
The film stars Payal Chengappa, who has done several Kannada movies and some Telugu web content. The filmmaker asserted that the audiences would connect to the character and her performance. The film is not a horror movie; it’s a thriller where an unknown man walks into the heroine’s flat and the mysteries around him are unveiled, he clarified.
Besides being a director, Shree Tej, who was earlier known as Srikanth Kandragula, is also a producer with Cinema Bandi productions. He has done a course in New York Film Academy and has been in the industry for almost two decades now.
His next project as a director would be an emotional science-fiction film, which would be a clean U-certified film, he concluded.
